In honour of Mandela Day on 17 July 2026, MaxProf dedicated the day to giving back by supporting three remarkable organisations that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and communities. Guided by the spirit of service and compassion inspired by Nelson Mandela’s legacy, our team spent the day contributing to initiatives that create hope, restore dignity, and strengthen communities.
Our Mandela Day journey began at Chubby Chums Children’s Homes in Germiston. The organisation operates 12 soup kitchens across informal settlements, extending as far as Nigel, where nutritious meals are provided to individuals and families in need. Recognising the invaluable role they play in addressing food insecurity, MaxProf made a financial contribution towards their work, helping them continue serving communities with care and compassion.
The second outreach initiative took place at Rock of Hope Place of Safety Children’s Home in Pretoria. Joining the visit were our CEO, Pratish Ramdas, EST CEO Renusha Ramdas, Directors Heinrich Guse and Andiswa Matutu, together with several members of the MaxProf team.
The team initially arrived with party packs, looking forward to spending time with the children. However, as it was nap time, they were instead given the opportunity to assist with feeding the babies and preparing them for their afternoon naps. What began as a simple visit quickly became a deeply moving experience.
Inspired by the dedication of the caregivers and the loving environment they provide, MaxProf proudly donated R15,000 to the home. It was a privilege to contribute towards an organisation that provides stability, care, and hope to children every day.
The final stop of the day was Givers Gift ECD Centre in Roodepoort, where the team had the opportunity to support the centre’s important work in providing early childhood development and care to young children. Through our contribution, we hope to assist the centre in continuing to create opportunities for children to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.
While each organisation serves its community in a unique way, they all share a common purpose: creating positive change through compassion, dedication, and selfless service. Visiting these organisations reminded us that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact on the lives of others.
Mandela Day is more than a single day of service; it is a reminder that each of us has the power to make a difference. At MaxProf, we remain committed to uplifting the communities we serve and supporting initiatives that leave a meaningful and lasting impact.
