On 17 September 2026, MaxProf attended the CFO Leadership Summit South Africa, held at Focus Rooms conference center. The summit brought together more than 200 CFOs, Finance Directors, Chief Risk Officers, Treasury Leaders and senior finance executives, creating a strategic platform for finance leaders to engage with the opportunities and challenges shaping today’s business environment.
Representing MaxProf at the summit were Sales Director Andiswa Matutu-Saliso and Support Services Director Heinrich Guse, who had the opportunity to connect with senior finance professionals and gain valuable insights into the evolving role of finance.
The summit explored how finance leaders can contribute to growth, resilience, innovation and sustainable value creation, with discussions highlighting the changing demands placed on finance functions and the increasing importance of technology, strategic decision-making and financial agility.
The event featured senior representatives from leading organisations, including Unilever, Standard Bank South Africa, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Auditor-General of South Africa, Bridgestone Africa Middle East, Barloworld Equipment, BAIC Motor Corporation, Lanseria International Airport, DP World and Bidvest Electrical.
A key highlight of the summit was the keynote address by Dr David Masondo, Deputy Minister of Finance of South Africa, which explored the role of artificial intelligence and technology in shaping a more intelligent and digitally enabled economy. His address highlighted several important themes:
- AI as economic infrastructure – leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance productivity and competitiveness.
- Smarter public finance – using data and technology to strengthen financial decision-making and public-sector performance.
- An inclusive digital economy – creating opportunities for broader participation in the digital economy.
- Sustainable transformation – recognising the role of AI and innovation in supporting long-term national development.
For MaxProf, the summit provided an opportunity to engage directly with finance leaders and share our expertise in VAT and Tax Optimisation. These conversations highlighted the importance of identifying opportunities to optimise financial outcomes and recover value that may otherwise be overlooked.
