After performing a specialised VAT review for the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality, MaxProf set aside a portion of its revenue to give back to the community from within the municipality. This Mayoral project is administrated by EST-Sourcing who work closely with the municipality to identify students who require financial assistance to further their studies.
MaxProf contributed R180,000 towards bursaries for twelve students from within the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality. These students have demonstrated tremendous tenacity and perseverance while pursuing their studies despite various challenges. This award reflects the hard work they have put into their education, as well as their determination to improve their circumstances and create a brighter future for themselves.
This much-needed assistance from MaxProf and EST-Sourcing will help alleviate the financial burden on students and their families by contributing towards tertiary fees, laptops, accommodation or other essential study-related needs. In a speech by the MMC for Corporate Services, it was noted that the municipality faces significant levels of poverty, with many residents living as indigent households and struggling to make ends meet. Despite these circumstances, the students have overcome numerous obstacles not only to gain admission to tertiary institutions, but also to pursue their dreams.
The students will be studying towards the following qualifications:

As the students continue their academic journeys, it is important to remember that success is rarely the result of talent alone. It is built through consistency, resilience, and the determination to keep moving forward when the path becomes difficult. We encourage these students to make the most of every opportunity by remaining focused on their goals and never losing sight of why they started.
Today, MaxProf, EST-Sourcing, and the municipality are investing in the potential of these young people. The true value of this investment, however, will be measured by the positive impact they make in their communities and professions in the years ahead.
Addressing the students, Mrs Ramdas quoted Mother Theresa saying, “Not all of us can do great things but we can all do small things with great love.” “Today, MaxProf is providing 12 bursaries and if each of you can help one person then you would have paid our good deed forward”, she stated.
We congratulate the students on their achievements and look forward to seeing how they use their education to shape a better future for themselves, their communities, and South Africa.
