At MaxProf we believe that “All work and no play make Jack a dull boy”. Every so often we take “time-out” from our busy schedules for a day filled with fun and games, just to recharge the batteries and to ensure that our teams are ready to tackle new challenges.
One such a day was Friday, 17 February 2023, when MaxProf Head Office decided to play a round of bowls. No, not tenpin bowling, but lawn bowls. Yes, the game which is traditionally perceived as a game played by “old people”, and what a day it was! We laughed, cheered, ended up doing new moves and dances, whilst enjoying every second of this very technical, but fun sport. We realised that it was most definitely a sport to be enjoyed by all ages!
Thank you to Pretoria Country Club Bowls Club for showing us the ropes and making this a day not to be forgotten anytime soon.
MaxProf Kimberley Bowls Day
Do we MaxProffers know how to have fun or what? Here at MaxProf we work hard but play even harder!
On Friday, 3 March 2023, MaxProf’s Northern Cape office based in Kimberley, had a bowls day to blow off steam and have some fun.
At first everyone was sceptical about the activity, as it was not only considered a technically challenging sport, but also rather boring. Little did the players know how much they would enjoy it. Not only did they learn a new skill, but they also bonded as a team.
Beaconsfield Bowling Club in Kimberley hosted the team on the day, and MaxProf will most definitely make this an annual event on the social calendar.
Durban
As part of its social activities, MaxProf’s KZN regional office based in Durban, decided on an activity that would be fun, enjoyed jointly as a team and easy to participate in; they decided on a game of tenpin bowling at the Gateway Theatre of Shopping. Ms Rika de la Rey, Accounts Payable Manager, designed a token for the winner. The game started with high spirits, everyone joking and laughing as they took turns trying to knock down as many pins as possible.
As the game proceeded, everyone wanted to push for a high score in each round, some players had favourite balls which they used as lucky charms. The players cheered for each other, and they relaxed and re-connected as a team. The game was a much-needed exercise, as mentioned, it united the employees as a team, and they got to know each other better in a different environment. MaxProf believes that activities such as these improve working relationships and productivity as a whole.
East London
“Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots. You get good breaks from bad shots, but you have to play the ball where it lies.”
On Saturday, 25 February 2023 our MaxProf Eastern Cape office in East London, went out for an 18 hole golf day at the Olivewood Estate, Golf Club, Restaurant & Venue in East London.
From the hard work we put in the office on daily basis, a good round of golf in such a beautiful golf course both frees and challenges one’s mind. A good Golfer has the determination to win and the patience to wait for the breaks, so does a good Employee.
