On 05 June 2026, MaxProf attended the SALGA Gauteng Municipal Awards ceremony, which was held at the Thaba Eco Hotel and Conference Centre in the south of Johannesburg. The evening featured great performances from South African musician Vusi Nova, along with an exceptional DJ who took guests on a nostalgic journey back to Kofifi.
In attendance was Gauteng Premier, Hon. Panyaza Lesufi, City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor Dada Morero, SALGA Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee Chairperson Jongizizwe Dlabathi, as well as other dignitaries. Representing MaxProf were Senior Auditor and Training Manager Lesiba Mphalele, Senior Auditor Mandlenkosi Mlambo, and Business Development Officer Moratwe Mashao.
The speakers for the evening addressed key issues currently holding national prominence, including challenges related to immigration, service delivery, and the upcoming local elections, which are set to influence the future of many of those in attendance.
Despite these challenges, Gauteng municipalities still had much to celebrate in recognition of their efforts in managing and improving their institutions. Among the winners on the evening was Lesedi Local Municipality, which received multiple awards, including recognition for being one of the local municipalities that achieved an unqualified audit opinion with improvements for the 2024/25 financial year.
These awards reflect the municipality’s ongoing commitment to enhancing service delivery within its organisation. In recognition of this achievement, and to encourage continued progress, MaxProf donated R15,000.00 to the municipality to support the execution of its mandate within the community it serves.
Through its VAT and Tax Optimisation services, MaxProf continues to support municipalities in strengthening financial management and unlocking additional revenue streams to improve service delivery outcomes.
