On November 24, 2023, the town hall of Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality in Zeerust buzzed with excitement and anticipation as we gathered to celebrate academic excellence and the pursuit of knowledge.
In collaboration with the Executive Mayor’s office, MaxProf and EST-Sourcing hosted a bursary award ceremony, presenting a total of R55,200 to three deserving students as part of their CSR program aimed at uplifting the municipality’s youth. The recipients, Tshepang Katsi (Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase at North-West University), Oteng Mokgothu (Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Johannesburg), and Oteng Modukanele (Bachelor of Pharmacy at Rhodes University), were honoured for their dedication to education.
During the ceremony, MaxProf’s Director, Andiswa Matutu, congratulated the bursary recipients and urged them to seize this opportunity to transform their educational circumstances. She emphasized that MaxProf’s CSR program goes beyond a mere “tick box” exercise, aiming to elevate students in both their academic pursuits
and within the corporate space. Matutu stressed the importance of education, not only as a means to secure employment but as a tool to foster creative thinking and entrepreneurial skills.
Expressing his gratitude, Tshepang Katsi shared, “Teaching has always been part of my life as I believe in educating and changing the lives of others.” He thanked the Mayor’s office for recognizing him as a suitable candidate for this initiative.
Honourable Mayor Cllr Dinah Pitso, in her keynote address, offered words of encouragement and emphasized the collective responsibility to care for the community. As a mother, she highlighted the importance of approaching this responsibility with love, support, and
compassion. The Mayor applauded the recipients for their high academic achievements and expressed gratitude to MaxProf, acknowledging their motivating efforts.
Cllr Dinah concluded with a message to the students: “Take responsibility for your life, stay focused, and never be stressed; we are here for you as a municipality.”
