MaxProf and EST Sourcing reaffirmed their commitment to education and community development ending off MaxProf’s Mandela Day celebrations by awarding of 17 bursaries valued at R147 000 to deserving students from the Rand West City Local Municipality in a bursary award ceremony held at the Municipality’s Municipal chambers on the 30th July 2026.
Representing the municipality were municipal officials, members of the Mayoral Committee, and Executive Mayor Cllr William Matsheke. In his address, the Executive Mayor spoke passionately about the transformative power of education, sharing that he had recently completed his Master’s degree in Public Governance and intends to further his studies by pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).
The Executive Mayor also highlighted the importance of graduate retention within the municipality and reassured students of the municipality’s commitment to creating opportunities for young professionals. He emphasized the need to address graduate unemployment and encouraged students to use education as a tool to build successful careers and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Representing MaxProf was Chief Executive Officer Pratish Ramdas, whose organisation provides VAT and Accounts Payable services to more than 80 municipalities across South Africa. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, implemented in partnership with EST Sourcing, MaxProf allocates a portion of its profits towards developing young minds in the communities in which it operates.
Collectively, the programme awards bursaries worth approximately R1.2 million annually, benefiting more than 120 students each year. This investment reflects the company’s commitment to empowering future leaders and creating sustainable opportunities through education.
The partnership between MaxProf and Rand West City Local Municipality has continued to grow since its inception. In 2022, nine bursaries valued at R134 000 were awarded to local students, followed by two bursaries worth R43 000 in 2023. This year’s contribution marks the largest investment to date, with 17 students receiving financial assistance to pursue higher education and vocational training.
The beneficiaries are enrolled at institutions including Westcol TVET College, UNISA, Regent Business School, and South West Gauteng College, where they are pursuing qualifications across a range of disciplines, including law, tourism, engineering, and business studies. The bursaries are designed to assist the students with their academic expenses, while easing the financial burden on families, enabling students to focus on achieving their academic goals.
Speaking on behalf of EST Sourcing, CEO Renusha Ramdas expressed her appreciation to Executive Mayor Cllr William Matsheke and the municipality for their ongoing collaboration and support. She reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to investing in the development of local youth and strengthening the partnership through future bursary initiatives.
