MaxProf Breaking Generational Poverty with Bursaries in Bojanala District

On 7 March 2025, MaxProf, in partnership with EST-Sourcing, proudly participated in the 2025 Bojanala District Mayoral Bursary Scheme Awards, an inspiring event held at the Royal Marang Hotel. The annual awards celebrate academic excellence and highlight the vital role of education in breaking generational poverty across South Africa.

Empowering the Future: Bursary Awards for Bojanala District Students

As part of our commitment to youth development in Rustenburg, MaxProf and EST-Sourcing awarded bursaries worth R50,000 to two high-potential students who applied for financial assistance through the municipality’s bursary scheme.

Meet the 2025 bursary recipients:

  • Shaun Khunedi – Advanced Diploma in Management, Vaal University of Technology
  • Tumisang Nthangeni – Bachelor of Science, Eduvos

Shaun shared in his application that he lives with his grandmother, who is unable to work. This bursary will enable him to continue his education without financial barriers.

Collaboration for Community Upliftment

The awards ceremony brought together traditional leaders from local royal houses and influential figures such as Dr Lato Ntwape, Chief Education Specialist at the Department of Education. Their presence reaffirmed the importance of public-private partnerships in education sponsorship across South Africa.

In addition to bursaries, the Bojanala District Municipality honored the top 10 Matric Class of 2024 achievers with laptops and tablets, ensuring they have the tools to succeed in their academic journey.

Executive Leadership Speaks Out

Cllr Dikeledi Susan Nthangeni, Executive Mayor of Bojanala District Municipality, commended MaxProf for its longstanding support of education. She called on other private companies to get involved, emphasizing the need for collaboration between businesses and municipalities to empower youth and uplift communities.

“MaxProf is setting the standard for how companies can contribute meaningfully to education and youth development."

Our Legacy of Giving Back
