Rand West City Local Municipality Executive Mayor Engages with EST Sourcing Bursars at the State of the City Address

MaxProf, EST Sourcing and our bursary beneficiaries were humbled to receive an invitation to the Rand West City Local Municipality’s State of the City Address that took place on the 20th of May 2022. We arrived in the early hours of a chilly morning to setup gazebos and branding on the lawn of the Westonaria Sports Complex. The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Gladys Khoza, graced us with her presence, accompanied by the municipality’s esteemed military entourage as well as neighbouring municipalities’ dignitaries.

MaxProf’s CEO, Mr. Pratish Ramdas, along with EST Sourcing’s CEO represented the companies at the esteemed event. The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Gladys Khoza looked ravishing as she delivered her address to the marquee full of delegates. She addressed the municipality’s achievements and setbacks, stating the importance of reinvesting in their community. One of which was the bursary programme by MaxProf and EST Sourcing. The Mayor’s office assisted with sourcing hardworking students from Randfontein and Westonaria. MaxProf and EST Sourcing went through a rigorous vetting process of selecting deserving candidates for our joint bursary programme that aims to uplift our youth. This partnership reinvested R150 000 into the community of Rand West City Local Municipality through a bursary programme. A total of 10 students registered at local colleges for degrees and diplomas in Business and Media Studies. A total of 7 students were registered at MJR Training Institute which is a partner college to EST Sourcing to study various Business Studies Diplomas.

The Mayor took the time to be photographed with the students and encouraged them to study hard and never forget where they came from. EST Sourcing ensures that the students remain focused on their academic goals, as our partner college MJR Institute provides regular updates to EST Sourcing on the students’ academic progress. Together, we established WhatsApp groups to provide the students with support and communicating updates to all parties, keeping us in the loop of exam dates and any challenges the students may experience. This assists us in mentoring the students and encouraging them to reach the peak of their capabilities. One student was registered at Boston Media house studying a diploma in Media Studies and one at Gauteng City College studying a diploma in Business Studies. We trust that this endeavour will provide them with the much needed foundation to create the life that they envisage for themselves through education and hard work.
