On January 21, a momentous Matric Excellence awards ceremony unfolded as MaxProf sponsored the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality. MaxProf proudly granted a remarkable R77,000.00 in bursaries to four outstanding local students, igniting their journey toward promising careers in Education and Management. The mood was cheerful as parents sang in joy as their students received bursaries.
The bursary recipients are embarking on their study journeys towards the following qualifications:
- Bridget Mokwana is pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching at Edutel Higher Education.
- Dimakatso Sereku is studying for a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching at the University of the Witwatersrand.
- Primrose Mmatsheko is enrolled in a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching at Northwest University.
- Karabo Zaoro is working towards an Advanced Diploma in Technical and Vocational Teaching at Stadio.
Seeds of Success: A Call to Give Back
During the handover ceremony, EST Sourcing CEO Renusha Ramdas delivered an inspiring message that resonated deeply with the recipients. As they basked in the glory of their academic achievements, she emphasized that true success is a journey we embark on together. Challenging the students to “pay the good deed forward,” she urged them to return to their roots and uplift the very communities that nurtured their potential. Her words served as a powerful reminder that investing in education goes beyond mere finances; it’s a profound commitment to fostering a legacy of growth and generosity for generations to come.
Scaling the Impact: MaxProf’s R2 Million Commitment
The funding is part of an ambitious educational drive. While MaxProf traditionally invests R1.2 million annually into bursary programs, they have significantly ramped up their efforts this year. Recognizing the growing need for financial support, the company has increased its commitment to a staggering R2 million for 2026.
Education: The Mayor’s Blueprint for Change
The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Magetle David Tladi emphasized that education is the most effective weapon against the systemic challenges of unemployment, poverty, and crime. By investing in these students, the municipality is investing in the long-term prosperity of the region.
“An educated society is an empowered society,” the Honourable Mayor stated, noting that the students’ achievements have brought immense pride not only to their families but to the entire Municipality. Mayor indicated that he would travel the length and breadth of the country in search of funding for the Mayoral bursaries. He expressed his appreciation for MaxProf’s efforts in this regard.
Building a Legacy Together
This collaboration stands as a testament to what can be achieved when the public and private sectors unite for a common cause. By removing the financial barriers to higher education, MaxProf, EST Sourcing, and the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality are doing more than just funding degrees; they are cultivating the human capital necessary to drive South Africa toward a more equitable and prosperous future. As these four students embark on their academic journeys, they carry with them the hopes of an entire community.
