MaxProf Bestows the Youth of the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality With Educational Bursaries

In the waning days of 2023, MaxProf and EST-Sourcing persist in their dedicated efforts to enhance the prospects of aspiring professionals. In the heart of Secunda, within the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality, a bursary award ceremony unfolded on November 21, 2023. This municipality holds historical significance as the home of Govan Archibald Muyelwa Mbeki, a distinguished South African politician, military commander, and communist leader.

Renusha Ramdas, Director of EST Sourcing, addressed both the municipality and the students, Lerato Nogabe and Bandile Mazibuko, elucidating on MaxProf’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. She underscored the joint commitment of EST Sourcing and MaxProf

to support the municipality’s youth, aiming to mitigate the staggering statistic that 92% of the youth in the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality lack access to tertiary education.

In concluding her remarks, Renusha encouraged the students to leverage their education for innovation and goal attainment, presenting Lerato with a bursary letter of R30,000 for her Diploma in Marketing Management at Boston City Campus and Bandile with R33,600 for his upcoming studies in Engineering and Built Environment at the University of Johannesburg in 2024.

Lerato Nogabe, expressing gratitude for the opportunity, shared her journey since completing matric in 2017. Faced with financial constraints that halted her initial pursuit of a media course, she returned to Govan Mbeki Municipality, engaging in pageantry and youth development programs. Mirroring the values of EST

Sourcing, Lerato stressed her belief that investing in the youth lays the foundation for a brighter collective future. Her excitement at resuming her studies to become a marketing professional and contribute to the betterment of others was palpable.

The Honourable Executive Mayor NG Zuma extended thanks to the two recipients, acknowledging MaxProf and EST-Sourcing for their exceptional work. Mayor Zuma expressed gratitude for their contributions and urged them to continue this impactful initiative in the upcoming year, 2024.
