In a landmark collaboration, MaxProf, EST-Sourcing, and the Emfuleni Local Municipality officially awarded bursaries to 17 ambitious students, all of whom are currently pursuing their degrees through UNISA. The event, which took place on 04 February 2026 at the municipal offices, was a historic milestone as much about the future of South Africa as it was about the individual success of its youth. The contribution marked a record-breaking commitment from MaxProf, with a donation of R560,000 the highest in the company’s history, ensuring that these students are equipped with both the financial means and the necessary technology, including new tablets, to excel in their learning journeys.
Voices of Leadership and Legacy
The atmosphere was charged with emotion as the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Sipho Radebe, shared a touching story of overcoming his own childhood hardships, reflecting that his late father would have looked at his success with immense pride, a sentiment he saw mirrored in the eyes of the parents gathered in the room. This spirit of excellence was further championed by Dr. Jeffrey Mphahlele, Deputy Chancellor of NWU, who represented the academic sector by congratulating the students on their remarkable resilience and expressing his sincere hope to witness their future graduation ceremonies.
Adding to the vision of the day, Mrs. Renusha Ramdas, CEO of EST-Sourcing, represented both her organisation and MaxProf by outlining the diverse academic paths of the 17 recipients and emphasising the rigorous selection process that recognised their incredible potential. She praised students from single-parent families for their exceptional results and resilience to a carve out a successful future.
“Hard Work Pays”
For the students, the day was a validation of their late nights and discipline. During a live session on the municipality’s podcast, one recipient was asked how he found himself in this position. His answer was a testament to his character: “Hard work pays.” He noted that his results opened doors he once thought were permanently locked.
Another student, Thabo, shared that this support provided much more than just financial relief, it gave him the “hope and fire” to continue striving for excellence.
“It was a wholesome experience, one that makes us proud to contribute to the lives of young people who will one day lead the country.”
Our Vision
At MaxProf, our mission is rooted in community. By reinvesting a percentage of our profits back into the areas where we operate, and with EST-Sourcing managing the program, we are able to find students from challenging backgrounds who possess the potential to change the world.
The day concluded with a light lunch, a celebratory photo session, and a prayer of gratitude. We walked away with more than just photos; we walked away with the knowledge that these 17 leaders now have the resources and the technology to reach the finish line.
