On July 18, 2025, Nelson Mandela Day was marked by a meaningful initiative in which four deserving students from Gert Sibande TVET College received bursaries worth R68,500. This achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Maximum Profit Recovery, EST-Sourcing and the Govan Mbeki Municipality, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing education and supporting local youth. The event exemplified the spirit of Madiba, showing how partnerships between the private sector and government can open doors and change lives.
Key figures from the community and business sector attended the occasion, including Mpumalanga Province MEC for Finance Mr. BA Majuba, Executive Mayor Cllr N. Zuma, and representatives from MaxProf and EST-Sourcing. Together, they celebrated the launch of new opportunities for the four awardees, building on MaxProf’s prior contribution of R59,000 in tuition support during 2024, underscoring the importance of sustained involvement.
During the event, EST-Sourcing Director Mrs. Ramdas highlighted a pressing issue: only 8% of youth in the municipality reach higher education. She voiced gratitude to the Executive Mayor and team for welcoming private sector collaboration and expressed hope that future efforts would support even more students. Mrs. Ramdas encouraged the bursary recipients to use their new opportunities to inspire and uplift their communities.
MEC Majuba praised MaxProf’s role, emphasizing that government alone cannot solve every challenge without active private sector engagement. He encouraged the students to embrace their chance, reminding them of their potential to become future leaders: “You’re the Mandela’s of tomorrow.”
Representing the recipients, Ncedile Nkosi shared her gratitude, describing how the bursary relieved her financial worries and enabled her to concentrate on her studies. She pledged, on behalf of all the recipients, to work diligently and fully seize this opportunity for growth and success.
