MaxProf Nurturing Young Talents At The Mafube Local Municipality

As a diamond forever shines, companies like MaxProf are dedicated to nurturing young talents to help them shine even brighter. These words were shared by the Executive Mayor of the Mafube Local Municipality, Councillor Tlhoare Motsoeneng on August 29, 2023, during a significant event held at the municipality. This occasion marked the Bursary Award Ceremony organized by MaxProf, where nine outstanding students selected by the Mafube Local Municipality Council were honoured with educational bursaries totalling R75,000.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Councillor Matsatsi Mofokeng, the Speaker of Mafube Local Municipality, who expressed gratitude for the presence of parents, recognising that many were unable to attend due to work commitments.

The Executive Mayor of Mafube Local Municipality, Councillor Tlhoare Motsoeneng, shared his initial scepticism about the program, having received numerous calls from EST Sourcing regarding the bursaries. However, further investigation revealed the remarkable work conducted by MaxProf and EST across various parts of South Africa. He emphasised that the primary objective of this initiative is to empower youth for future job opportunities. The municipality, MaxProf, and EST Sourcing had engaged in constructive discussions to ensure the success of this program, and the Mayor urged MaxProf to continue collaborating with the municipality. He commended MaxProf for their commitment to community support and referred to the ceremony as an extraordinary event. He encouraged the students to seize this opportunity, reminding them of their humble backgrounds and likening them to diamonds that MaxProf is helping to polish for a brighter future.

Advocate Mothusi Lepheane, Mafube Local Municipality Municipal Manager, urged students to excel academically to maintain their place in the bursary program. He stressed that their academic records would demonstrate their strengths and ensure the effective utilisation of MaxProf’s funds.

Renusha Ramdas, Director of EST Sourcing, introduced her company, MaxProf’s sister organisation responsible for managing MaxProf’s CSR initiatives, including the Bursary Program initiated in 2021. She highlighted MaxProf’s commitment to investing 1.2 million Rand annually in disadvantaged students from over seventy-five municipal clients. In Mafube LM, MaxProf had invested R75,000 in nine students pursuing various fields of study, fostering skills development, and contributing to the economy. Ramdas emphasized that EST Sourcing’s involvement went beyond financial support to emotional support for the students.

Vuyo Tsotetsi, one of the bursary recipients, pursuing N6 in Human Resource Management at Motheo TVET College, shared his gratitude, acknowledging his parents’ sacrifices and his determination to make them proud.

Ntombini Hlongwane, another bursary recipient studying for a Bachelor of Education at Rosebank College, expressed her relief at being able to focus on her education without financial stress. She recounted her previous struggles with fees and her commitment to becoming an inspiring teacher.

The event underscores the importance of collaboration between the private sector and local municipalities in uplifting communities. It highlights the potential for lasting change when companies like MaxProf and organizations like EST Sourcing join hands within the communities in which they operate to uplift and support the next generation of employees.
