MaxProf at the Eastern Cape Mining Indaba 2025

The Eastern Cape Province Mining Indaba took place last week, 30 – 31 October 2025 in East London, bringing together industry leaders, government representatives, and solution providers to explore the future of mining in the region. MaxProf was proud to be part of this influential platform, contributing our expertise in VAT and tax optimisation to support sustainable growth and operational efficiency across the sector.

The tone was set on Day 1 with powerful insights and bold ambitions. Mr. Mica Davhana, Assistant Director at the Department of Minerals, Petroleum and Resources, opened the Indaba by spotlighting the small-scale mining sector. He acknowledged its challenges while reaffirming its vital role in job creation and economic development across the Eastern Cape.

Premier Oscar Mabuyane followed with a compelling keynote address focused on “Unlocking the Eastern Cape Province’s mining potential.” His vision emphasised sustainable industrialisation, infrastructure expansion, and social upliftment, key themes that resonated throughout the event.

MaxProf’s Sales Director, Andiswa Matutu CA(SA), MBA, joined the discussion to share insights into our specialised VAT and tax recovery services. Her contribution highlighted how strategic tax optimisation could empower mining operations.

As the Indaba progressed into Day 2, speakers continued to build on the themes introduced earlier, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, innovation, and financial efficiency in the mining sector. While the pace was more reflective, the conversations remained purposeful and MaxProf stayed engaged, connecting with delegates at our exhibition stand and sharing tailored insights into how our services could support operational resilience.

Attendees also enjoyed exclusive branded gifts and one-on-one engagements with our team, making the MaxProf stand a hub of meaningful exchange. We were proud to contribute to a dialogue that not only shaped the future of mining in the Eastern Cape, but also highlighted the role of financial strategy in driving sustainable impact.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with us.
