On 21 January, the MaxProf team, in partnership with the Potato Foundation, visited several preschools in the Gomora informal settlement in Pretoria West. This initiative formed part of MaxProf’s ongoing commitment to community upliftment and Corporate Social Responsibility, with a focus on supporting early childhood education and wellbeing.
One of the schools visited was Happy Sabby Day Care Centre, where the MaxProf team donated groceries to assist with the daily meals provided to the children. The team was warmly welcomed by the teachers and had the opportunity to tour the classrooms, gaining a deeper appreciation of the learning environment and the dedication of the staff. Seeing the children engaged in their daily routines was a reminder of the importance of creating safe, nurturing spaces where young learners can thrive.
At another daycare centre in Gomora, the MaxProf team went beyond donations, they dished meals for the children, sat with them, and shared moments of joy and laughter. For many, this was the highlight of the day: not only providing nourishment but also building human connection and showing the children that they are valued and cared for.
The visit was more than a charitable act; it was a day of reflection on the challenges faced by communities in informal settlements and the resilience of those who work tirelessly to support young learners. By donating groceries and spending time with the children, MaxProf and the Potato Foundation reinforced their belief that education and nourishment go hand in hand.
The initiative also highlighted the power of partnerships. Working together, MaxProf and the Potato Foundation were able to extend their reach and make a tangible difference in the lives of children who represent the future of their communities.
As MaxProf continues to build on its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, visits like these remain central to its mission of driving positive change. The day in Gomora stands as a reminder that small acts of kindness, whether through donations, shared meals, or simply spending time, can leave lasting impressions on both the children and the volunteers.
MaxProf is proud to walk alongside communities, educators, and partners in creating opportunities for growth, dignity, and hope.
